totems, CD’s, music & book reviews, crystal news, Gods’ &

CRYSTAL OF THE MONTH
THE
PYRITE ‘SUN’
Immediately identifiable by its resplendent rainbow
gold color. This amazing specimen looks like a beautiful crystal fan,
fully opened for all to see its inner beauty and, therein lies a clue as
to its special powers.
The Pyrite Sun is a wonderful tool to have at the
beginning of a new year as it is a stone of majesty and manifestation like
no other. It teaches us to connect with our own unique inner beauty and
tap into our vast personal potential. The name pyrite means “fire stone”
and the pyrite sun really fires up not only your ambition but also your
energy and enthusiasm levels - essential when it comes to fulfilling your
heartfelt dreams and wistful wishes. Pyrite suns make ideal center pieces
for your alter as they remind you of the power of possibility that the
future holds for you. So as we leave one year behind and embark on the
mystery of the one that lies ahead, think of adding a pyrite sun to your
spiritual shopping list. After all, everyone deserves to be reminded of
the beauty of their soul on a daily basis, don’t you agree?
CD CORNER
This month I’d like to bring two great CD’s to
your attention which are currently selling like the proverbial hot-cakes
in the store. The first CD is Enchanted Egypt by Phil Thornton and
Hossam Ramzy. This is yet another energetic dance album from the team that
brought us Eternal Egypt and Immortal Egypt. Packed with
enough dance worthy Egyptian influenced music to keep Shakira’s hips
wiggling happily and to bring out the hidden belly dancer in us all. It is
also laced with some more haunting tunes which conjure up images of
walking through the Valley of the Kings at dusk. A must have for anyone
who likes their music seasoned with a sensual Egyptian influence.
Also worth a spin is Achilles -The Nine Worlds.
Coming from the co producer, Jens Gad, and guitarist of the multi-platinum
group Enigma. This is a spellbinding, mysterious, and relaxing
slice of European electronica. Seductive lounge music that serenades the
senses with a sound that is both relaxing and refreshing. For those old
enough to remember, you may even manage to spot a very familiar opening
riff on “The Seeress Prophecy (Daydreaming)” Isn’t that oh so
reminiscent of that old Motown classic “Heard it Through The Grapevine?”
Nice to know that even in the “new age” the old classics are given a
passing tribute.
GODDESS OF THE MONTH
KUAN
YIN
Kuan Yin is the Chinese goddess of love, compassion,
and healing. Legend has it that Kuan Yin entered a temple in search of
spiritual enlightenment and refuge from her domineering father whose sole
ambition for his daughter was to have her marry for status. However, once
in the temple Kuan Yin quickly gained a reputation for her kind deed and
compassionate nature. Her father, upset by her act of rebellion against
his wishes had her killed. Given her good works while alive, she was
brought to heaven to enjoy an eternity of bliss. On reaching the gates of
heaven, Kuan Yin heard a cry from below. The cry came from someone in need
of her help and, in that moment, she made a vow ner to leave humanity
until every last person was free from suffering and pain. For this vow,
Kuan Yin was made a goddess.
Widely worshipped, Kuan Yin is hailed as a mother of
mercy and a healer of all that ails humanity; often called upon by those
undergoing troubles or illness in life.
BOOK OF THE MONTH…
The Hidden Messages In Water,
by Masaru Emoto, $16.95
Finally this month we would like to bring to your
attention this amazing book by internationally renowned Japanese scientist
Masaru Emoto. In the course of his research, Dr. Emoto has revealed how
molecules of water are affected by thoughts, words, and feelings. Using
high-speed photography he shows how crystals formed in frozen water reveal
changes when specific concentrated thought and sounds are directed toward
them. Water, when exposed to loving words displays beautiful, complex
snowflake patterns. On the other hand, when exposed to negative words the
water crystals form incomplete patterns with dull colors.
The implications of this beautifully presented book
and its collection of amazing photographs are vast and extremely thought
provoking. I challenge anyone to read this book and not be tempted to
conduct a whole new relationship with water and the possibilities it
holds.
And that just about rounds it up for our very first
newsletter. However, don’t forget to check in again next month for more
news, views, and hot new features as Crystal Connections develops
into one of your favorite places on the web!
